Vintage styles are always so much Fun!!!

Clockwise from top left: Bass Enfield Saddle Shoe ($65), Ariadna by Camper ($150), Marais USA lace-up ($48), and Sophie shoe by Vans ($55).

Well it's the end of January and by now you should already be seeing some of the Spring merchandise arriving in your local retailers. During this time, it gives you the chance to scope out the merchandise and see what you will be keeping your eye on to start making your purchases.

Along with the varieties of espadrilles, platforms, and huaraches, I was able to notice another popular trend in shoes this Spring: the fifties-style saddle shoes. With this vintage classic making an appearance, we will be looking like we are attending a sock hop!

Now this is definitely a trend that will not catch the masses....but I'm sure some of my advanced fashion forward peers may give it a try!

It's official Ladies....our shopping has paid off!

OK, ladies I have some great news. So I've done a little research, and have found out some great information about my favorite activity.....SHOPPING!!! There’s a new study that proves that our “black belt” shopping may have a fitness perk as well.

“The average woman burns off 48,000 calories a year - just by walking around the shops, the The Daily Mail reports based on a poll of 3,000 women conducted by Skinny Cow low-fat frozen desserts.

The Daily Mail explains that the average woman makes 132 shopping trips each year which the annual total of walking at a fast pace for 159 hours and 56 minutes. The researchers found that shoppers will burn approximately five calories a minute - a total of 47,700 calories over a 12-month period. That's the equivalent of 25 days worth of women's recommended daily intake of 1,940 calories.

Shoppers are not slow pokes either as two thirds of women polled said they walked briskly around the shops rather than ambled so they could cover more ground. All that racing around the stores left almost seven in ten women feeling completely exhausted after a shopping trip, and six in ten women thought shopping was a great form of exercise.

I certainly don't recommend shopping as a substite of regular excersise, but I definitely look at as an added bonus to my health! Enjoy ladies!

Finding the Perfect Swimsuit for your Body Type

Bring on the heat, bring on the fun! Summertime is about relaxing and looking great while doing so. I believe there is swimwear for each body type, you just have to find what works for you!

Large Bust- Just because you are a busty woman, doesn't mean you have to be spilling out of your suit all over the beach. You can minimize your overflowing cups with spaghetti straps or wide straps on your swimsuit or bikini.

Small Bust- Don't worry, there are a few tips that can help you out. To give yourself a boost, try a variety of padded bikini tops, or for more coverage, try suits with a horizontal neckline. With these tips, it will draw attention to the shoulder and give an illusion of fuller breast.

Short Torso- This hasn't changed ladies, vertical stripes are still the best way to go.

Wide Shoulders- Choose a swimsuit or bikini with a halter top. The thick straps up top help make shoulders look more proportional.

Belly Bulge- Alright ladies, even though we see the tiny images of women in all the media, I want to make sure I don't leave out the average woman. So to keep that belly bulge discreet, try an empire waist which draws attention to the bustline and slims the tummy area. Another tip is staying with solids or dark-colored swimsuits.

Short Legged- A high cut leg is always a great choice to elongate those fantastic legs. Keeping a solid one-piece suit will create an elongating effect, because it doesn't break up the body that causes the body to appear shorter.

Those are just a few tips to help you out as you choose the perfect swimsuit for your body type.

Kim Kardashian Given the Green Light to Show her Bebe line at NYC Fashion Week

Yes guys its true, yet again another reality star has been given an opportunity to show their so-called designs at Fashion Week NYC. Kim Kardashian has been given the 10-11am time slot on the Fashion Week calendar, which is listed between 'Derek Lam' and 'TSE' reads "Bebe/Kardashian".

The unfortunate thing these days is that everyone wants to be called a fashion designer and realistically they are just the name behind the actual designers. I'm not going to count this line out, because after all it still may be a pretty good line, so we will see.

More from Men's Fashion Week: Prada Fall 2010

Yes Men, I have more for you from Men's Fashion Week, which is being held in Milan. Even though I get excited about the Men's fall collections, once again the designers played it safe. The reason behind another season of playing it safe is because of the sales decline of almost 10% in 2009.

This Prada Menswear Collection had Harvard written all over it, from tweed blazers to crew neck pullovers & casual slacks. This "Preppy" collection shown by any other designer would have appeared to ooze with boredom, but Prada had to put its own spin on things. This Prada Collection switched it up with simple crew neck sweaters with an almost plunging neckline and shown cropped above the waist to reveal the classic blue dress shirt underneath.

Retail News Alert: Bloomingdale's Opening Outlet Locations

Macy's Inc. announced this week of plans to launch a new Bloomingdale's Outlet store concept for 2010. These stores will be approximately 25,000 square feet, and scheduled to open in Summer or Fall of 2010. The focus of these stores will be shopping centers with an upscale outlet store focus, and positioned in excellent, high-traffic locations. They will begin with four units on the East Coast, and plans of additional stores to open 2011.

"We have been studying the opportunities for entering the off-the-mall outlet business for some time, and the timing is right given the consumer's particular focus on value in addition to fashion and quality," said by Terry J. Lundgren, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Macy's Inc. The outlet stores will offer a range of apparel and accessories, including women's ready-to-wear, men's, children's, women's shoes, fashion accessories, jewelry, handbags and intimate apparel.

So guys get ready, because there's nothing I love better than high fashions at a great cost!

Exclusive! Giorgio Armani Men's RTW Fall 2010

Where do I begin to elaborate on this Armani Ready to Wear collection. Once again, Armani has shut the fashion scene down with the Fall 2010 collection. This collection is so amazing, and filled with so many great pieces.

At the end of the runway show, Giorgio Armani tossed his beret into the crowd in excitement of how great the show went. It was definitely a fitting gesture as the Italian designer collection tipped his had to French style. The entire feel is classic: perfect tailoring, sleek silhouettes, chic fabrics and rich colors. As the models ripped that runway, they had a presence that was indescribable.

Hot Handbag Alert: Spring Must have bags!

Listen Up! Spring is right around the corner, and one of the key things to set off your wardrobe is the perfect handbag. It doesn't matter if you are enjoying a Saturday afternoon in jeans and a t-shirt, or a night out on the town with your girls, you have to have a "it" bag to rock! So here is a sneak peak at some of the hottest bags for the season, so take your pick!

Mulberry's Alexa Handbag: It's time to take a look at upcoming handbags for Spring 2010, and the most talked-about of the new season -Mulberry's Alexa handbag! Named after errant British model-turned-TV-presenter Alexa Chung, it is widely considered to be one of the first must-have bags of 2010.

Louis Vuitton: You may remember this Monogram Eden Neo Handbag as the one Naomi Campbell picked for the White Ribbon Alliance charity. Part of the money for this bag will benefit the foundation, and it will probably be the most popular from the Louis Vuitton spring and summer collections because it's the most functional and conservative in style and color, yet absolutely fabulous.

Versace: Versace debuted a collection of beautiful, colorful handbags for Spring/Summer 2010. Donatella Versace was inspired by Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. "I loved the idea of that fantasy land," she said. The inspiration is evident in her use of vivid pastels, geometric prints, and baroque curlicues.

Prada: This line of bags feature beautiful detailing such as the crystal snap closure detail, which I love! The bags structure is very practical and can be worn for many occasions. The bags are shown in a linen fabric and plastic. I think the better choice would be the linen bags, or the chic clutch that was shown.

Dolce & Gabanna:I love this handbag, from the beautiful quilted leather, Chanel-esque flap style, to the fabulous pearl and gemstone embellished straps, it's black leather with gold and silver tone hardware and front nameplate. This bag is big enough to be an everyday bag, so you can get a lot of use out of it!

OK, so I'm not saying to rush out and spend $1,500 on the "it" bag of the season, but it's great to see what direction the trends of handbags are going. When high fashion designers show the signature bags of the season, better believe there will be back so similar that you can barely tell for the mass market. The retail industry is so competitive that these trends and styles will be available at various price points!

"Sex and the City" star Sarah Jessica Parker taking a creative role with Fashion Line Halston

Halston is tapping Parker for its newly announced Halston Heritage collection, a less expensive extension of its signature collection, according to Women's Wear Daily.

Halston's glitzy image from its heyday of the disco era — with the late Roy Halston Frowick turning out jersey jumpsuits and the like for the Studio 54 crowd — had become tarnished in recent years with a disappointing relaunch in 2008.

Parker, meanwhile, found herself without a home for her own once-popular line Bitten after retail partner Steve & Barry's filed for bankruptcy and closed its doors.

But Parker is still considered one of the most influential celebrities in the fashion world and insiders think she and Halston would make good co-stars.

Parker's style-icon "SATC" character Carrie Bradshaw has already been shown in the trailer for "Sex and the City 2" in a white dress from Halston Heritage, a brand extension with retail prices ranging from $55 to $595.

So in the coming weeks, I will be on the lookout for more information developing from this story!

Tina Fey: F

This Zac Posen number was a flop, and the beige shoes that didn't match the gown at all, made it even worse!

Kate Hudson: B

Her Marchesa gown, was surely a risk taker, May I add the shoes were horrible!

Chloe Sevigny: C

This lilac Valentino gown had the popular ruffle trend, but was a little over-done.

Gabourey Sidibe: C+

The emerald green might not have been the best choice, but she is getting better with her clothing choices.

Kate Winslet: A

She looked amazing in this elegant, one-shoulder Yves Saint Laurent gown.

Drew Barrymore: D

In this beaded Atelier Versace number, I felt this was a flop, and could have done better.

Jennifer Aniston: B

Jen didn't look put together at all last night in this beautiful Valentino gown, I was a little surprised that she appeared on the carpet looking as she did. The gown was great, but her hair was another story.....

Sigourney Weaver: A

Looked great in this emerald green gown for the evening

Halle Berry: A+

As usual, Halle looked stunning in a show-stopping Kaufman Franco gown

Golden Globe Red Carpet Report Card

There were many of the same trends on the Golden Globe red carpet last night. Many didn't play it safe with the usual neutrals, and also their black & whites. Last night there were many pinks, purples, blues, and greens. One of the biggest trends were the ruffles; some were tasteful.....some not so much! Here are a few of the gowns that caught my eye. Enjoy!

Tips for Keeping your Lips KISSABLE!

Think of your lips as a sponge, and because they're always exposed, they're prone to dehydration particularly during the cold & windy months. The skin on the lips is also unlike skin anywhere else on the body, It's thinner and has no oil glands. Below I have listed 7 tips to keep great looking and healthy lips all year long!

1. Drink Plenty of water.
2. Stop licking your lips.....it only takes more moisture away from them.
3. Use a humidifier. This is to make sure the moisture stays locked in.
4. Use the right lip balms for your specific needs.
5. Exfoliate when necessary to remove any dead skin on the lips.
6. Protect! Use sun-protective products on a daily basis.
7. Switch it up. Don't use matte lipsticks all the time, because they can be extremely drying to the lips.

OK, so you didn't think I was going to leave you out in the cold without giving you some great products to try out!

Petroleum Jelly $1.19

Blistex Lip Revitalizer with AHA & Vitamin E $1.89

Neutrogena Lip Moisturizer SPF 15 $3.00

$Pure Softlips Pomegranate Organic Lip Conditioner $3.29

4 Steps to Creating Your Signature look!

We look at the media and tabloids and as much as we don't want to admit it, we want to dress like them and gain some of their style they have as well. The thing that I try to remind people is that those celebs that you see photographed night after night, pay to have the image that they do. From the places they are seen at, to the high end designer clothes they rock, they all tend to come at a price. In this post for today, I will give you a few tips that will help you create your own signature look!

1.Know Your Personality. This key factor becomes very important when it comes to establishing your signature look. Because the clothes you wear really do tell the world who you are, you need to know who you are before you decide on how to show it to the world. You need to find qualities within yourself that make you distinctive as a person, and when you are shopping the trends, take note on what speaks to you. If certain trends make you feel great just by looking at them, chances are they will look great when you are wearing them as well!

2.Know your fit. One of the biggest mistakes people make when purchasing clothes is that they buy the wrong size, or try to wear something that looks good on someone 2 sizes smaller. If the clothes you are wearing do not complement your best features, then they will look terrible on you no matter how expensive or designer they are. Know your fit, be honest with yourself, and work around it. There are many trends that any size can wear, with some body types not being able to wear every thing that hits the runway. And that rule goes for whether you are small, medium, or large girls. Even the size zeroes make mistakes when it comes to this rule.

3. Create a signature “piece”. Use a favoured accessory or color that you keep consistent with every outfit, and this will make your everyday trend stand out in a crowd of others that are wearing the same thing. This piece may even be the same piece you use time and time again, or pieces that have a theme like butterflies, hearts, or things of that nature. Choose something that reflects who you are and what you like and this will speak volumes about you to the world without you having to say a word. Choosing this signature piece also works good when someone uses things to remember a person by.....so make sure you choose a good piece, to leave a great impression.

4. Remember that every look is not for you. When we see the hottest fashions hit the runway, sometimes we want to take all of those looks of the season to wear so we can feel we weren't left out. Don't worry, every style and trend will not be for everybody. That's why there are thousands of designers, so that we can find the styles and fashions that work best for us. Some of the items on the runway will only be for the tall ladies, and some will work in the favor of the average chicks. So just take your time when shopping to find out what works best for you.

I hope that these few tips will help you out when you are creating your look for not just the Summer, but your personal style in general!

Women Hair Trends for 2010

Plaited & Braided Hair:

There are two distinct braided hairstyle looks for 2010: The long side braid, and the fish plait as seen on many 2010 runways.

Long waved Hair: This look inspired by the 1940s, has once again made it back for this season, but there is a checklist to follow to pull the look off correctly.
*Waves should be firm but not curly
*Suitable for all hair colors, though less effective on black hair
*Wear it with an off-center or side part, not a center part
*Length wise, it must fall below the shoulders
*Pair with classic make-up and styling

Long Hair: Look inspired by the 1970s gives us a few styles and trends to choose from.

Straight long hair, naturally styled

*Slickly styled, but not so slick that it feels overly styled or straightened
Should be voluminous
*Predominantly styled on the Spring 2010 catwalks with a side part, but will work equally as well with a center part
*Definitely a style that works for super-long hair, i.e. hair that falls to the midriff

1970's inspired flowing texture

*Different from the waved hairstyle inspired by the 1940s, this flowing, textured, (and sometimes) waved hairstyle trend in 2010 relies instead on natural-looking waves that border on bed hair
*Suitable with both a center part and an off-center part
*As with straight and naturally styled long hair, flowing waves also work well when very long

The Slicked Back

Slicked back with gel, with fingers or a wide toothed comb providing the texture, 2010's slicked back hairstyle mixes hair slicked back across the top of the head with textured length. Though we've seen a dry, heavily brushed texturing for the length, avoid it and stick to a wet look as seen on Alexander Wang and Thakoon's Spring 2010 catwalks.

The Chignon
In 2010 the traditional neat chignon is an easy and chic style for day or night
Avoid the over-styled, over-hairsprayed wedding look. Even a sleek, tidy chignon should feel natural and sophisticated. For a fresh 2010 take on the chignon, try a highly textured low bun like those seen on Karl Lagerfeld's Spring 2010 catwalk. Rough pieces of hair are pinned in place for a messy, textured look.

Another unique version was seen at Carolina Herrera's Spring 2010 show - low chignons were entwined with strands of silver and bronze beads for an embellished effect.

The top knot

Popular on the street in 2009, the top knot conveys a young and playful look. In 2010 topknots are best in two forms: the sleek and the messy top knot.

Sleek top knots are tidy buns that sit right at the top of the head, like those seen at Marc Jacobs and Nina Ricci for Spring 2010.
*Sleek top knots best sit dead centre of the head, but can also work slightly off to the side.
*These types of topknots work best on straight hair.
*Hair should be neatly brushed upward and slicked into place; then the top knot twisted around neatly and fastened
*The sleek top knot works well in an elegant ballerina-esque way - so in 2010 don't be afraid to add a ribbon or some embellished clips to accentuate the femininity of the style
*You can also try plaiting the hair first, then twisting it into a top knot, for another variation on the look

For a messy top knot
*Sweep the hair up and fasten haphazardly. The effect is one of nonchalance and effortlessness.

On the Spring 2010 runways we saw a more elegant take on the messy top knot: rather than a messy bun hair is loosely wound around and piled on top of the head for a birds-nest look that's Hitchcock heroine meets modern-day bedhair. Look to Lanvin, Fendi, and YSL.
*Volume is key: teasing and hairspray will help create the look
*Works well with hair that has some soft waves and texture to it
*Works best on hair with subtle highlights and lowlights - raven black or rich brunette colors can be too blockish

Twists & rope braids

In 2010 the classic French Twist is great when disheveled, as yet another chic yet carelessly thrown together look

*Twist hairstyles can also take the form of strands of hair twisted and then pinned to create interesting shapes
*Rope twists, or rope braids, have also sprung up as another new style for Spring 2010. Seen on the runways of Matthew Williamson, Zac Posen (whose ponytail twists were woven through with neon colours), and Antonio Berardi
*This style is simply achieved by twisting two strands of hair, then winding the strands around each other to form a 'rope'
*Rope braids can be left to cascade down the shoulder much like the side braid above; tied up into buns; or twisted around the head like a milkmaid braid
Rope twists work well on any hair colour, but are most effective when hair is straight and long

I have enjoyed researching these hairstyles for you, so hope you get a chance to play around with some of these styles to see which ones work best with your Spring looks!
