Derek Lam Designs for eBay

Derek Lam announced plans to introduce an original collection to be sold exclusively on eBay, which is the world's largest online marketplace and a leading U.S. destination for fashion.

"Having a direct and immediate dialogue with the online audience is what makes fashion exciting and relevant in this moment,” said Derek Lam. "eBay’s technology offers me a unique and innovative opportunity to reach new and existing customers directly, and to create fashion they desire.”

Lam will unveil a ready-to-wear collection of original designs at a presentation during New York Fashion Week in February 2011 and invite shoppers to vote for their favorites on eBay.com. His final collection will be available for purchase in Spring/Summer 2011 at accessible, fixed price points—delivering shoppers immediate, in season access to Lam’s signature designs at excellent value, exclusively on eBay.

Lam has received abundant recognition within the fashion industry, winning the CFDA Perry Ellis-Swarovski Award for Emerging Talent in Womenswear in 2005, the Vogue/CFDA Fashion Fund Prize in 2005 and the CFDA Accessory Designer of the Year Award in 2007. He launched his label in 2003 – sold at Lam’s two retail stores, online at DerekLam.com and at premium retailers including Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman and Barney’s – and was named creative director of Tods in 2006. Lam’s clientele includes Kate Hudson, Jessica Alba, Leighton Meester, Rachel Bilson, Kate Bosworth and Anne Hathaway, among others. For more, visit www.dereklam.com.

Eating for Great Skin

Many people often ask me what type of products do I use on my skin to keep it so healthy, well I tell them it's not always about the products used but what foods you put into your body. Eating superfoods is known to slow down the aging process, and they are also fantastic for your skin. Choosing the right foods as a part of your diet, combined with a proper skin cleansing & moisturizing regimen can help achieve softer younger-looking skin.

You ask what are Superfoods? These are foods that have high antioxidants. Foods that contain this can help reduce the damage from sun exposure, smoke and pollution. These antioxidants also help prevent wrinkles, loss of skin firmness and other signs of aging. Here's some examples of what foods will fall under this category:

fruits — tomatoes, all berries
beans — kidney, pinto and black beans
veggies — peppers, broccoli, carrots, snow peas, dark-green leafy veggies, such as kale
range fruit — oranges, melons, papaya, peaches, mango

Also one of the most highly recommended superfood in juice form is pomegranate. It is said to contain ellagic acid to fight damage from free radicals as well as punicalagin to increase your body's ability to preserve collagen. Collagen is actually the connective tissue that makes your skin look younger, smoother and soft.

Hope these tips were a big help for you, because they definitely were for me!

Justin Bieber to Launch a New Fragrance

The teenage pop phenomenon Justin Bieber is bursting onto the celebrity fragrance scene, with a twist. Rather than introduce a traditional fragrance housed in a glass bottle, the 16-year-old tween and teen heartthrob has teamed up with the newly formed company Etoile Nation Beauty to introduce wristbands and dog tags infused with a unisex fragrance called My World. The scented accessories are slated to launch in Wal-Mart stores on Black Friday.

Lanvin for H&M

Last year, H&M toasted their Sonia Rykiel collaboration with a blow-out celebration in Paris’ Grand Palais. They built a faux-Eiffel Tower and staged a parade full of Lily Cole-topped floats and marching geese. It was — to put it mildly — just a bit over the top. So this time around, in honor of Alber Elbaz’s capsule collection, they’re toning things down a tad and staging a tasteful (this is Lanvin after all) runway show at the Pierre Hotel in Manhattan on November 19th.

It will, most likely, feature a cast of models to rival Rykiel’s and will definitely include a handful of customized outfits. The one-offs will be auctioned for charity post-show and the next day, when H&M celebrates its new Las Vegas flagship, that city’s residents (and visitors) will have the chance to buy the collection three days before anyone else.

Check out the Hottest Fall Fragrances

Many women out there are determined to find their signature scent for the season. Well ladies you are in luck, because I have tracked down the hottest fragrances on the market for both work and play, so check them out!

For Day: Kate Spade Twirl
This fruity floral scent is as whimsical as its name (and the gold confetti-adorned bottle it comes in), with hints of pink watermelon, blackberry, and orange blossom.

$65 for 1.7 fl. oz. at department and specialty stores

For Night: Outspoken by Fergie
The first scent from the Princess of the Peas is as sexy and unique as the singer herself, with bold notes of black leather, iced berry, and wild saffron.

For Day: Peace, Love & Juicy Couture
Decked out with turquoise beads, gold charms, and girlie pink tassels, the gorgeous boho-chic bottle is reason enough to try this pretty new floral scent.

$67 for 1.7 fl. oz. at department and specialty stores

For Night: Givenchy Play for Her Intense
The female take on Play is as fun and sexy as its male counterpart. Not surprising, since the "Intense" version contains the same musky amyris wood, plus pink peppercorns and tiare flower.

For Night: Gucci Guilty
With a name like "Guilty," you know that this scent is going to be seductive and rich. And the mix of mandarin, pink pepper, lilac, and patchouli doesn't disappoint. Note: Watch out for the steamy Gucci Guilty commercial starring Evan Rachel Wood and Chris Evans.

$75 for 1.7 fl. oz. at department stores

For Night: Giorgio Beverly Hills
The unofficial scent of the '80s is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, and to commemmorate the luxe floral fragrance, the brand is releasing it in a limited-edition gold bottle.
