Sarah Burton Named Creative Director at Alexander McQueen
It is official, Gucci Group has made Sarah Burton, formerly head of design for women's wear at McQueen, the new Creative Director at Alexander McQueen. Looking at the available position, she's the only person who was really qualified for this open job. Burton was a student at Central Saint Martins in London when she began working in 1996 in Mr. McQueen's studio as part of a work-study program. Burton actually remained his first assistant until his sudden death this past February. With such a great background with the brand, I'm sure that she will definitely keep the McQueen label headed in the right direction.

Cliff Grodd, Paul Stuart Legend, Dies of Cancer
Clifford Grodd, who was the driving force and also chief executive officer of Paul Stuart died Tuesday after a long battle with Cancer at the age of 86. Grodd ran the specialty store for nearly 60 years, but had been unable to come to the store for the past 18 months due to his illness. In the honor of his passing, the store will be closed Thursday, which is the day the memorial services have been scheduled to be held at 10 a.m. at the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Home in Manhattan.
Grodd was born in New Haven, Conn. and was educated at the University of Connecticut. He also served as an Air Force gunner during World War II and was shot down over Hungary, captured and put into solitary confinement by the Germans. At the end of the war, he was awarded a Purple Heart.
Paul Stuart, a 60,000-square-foot fixture on Madison Avenue and 45th Street, was founded by Ralph Ostrove and his cousin Norman in 1938. Ralph Ostrove named the store after his son, Paul Stuart Ostrove. Grodd, who had completed an executive training program at the G. Fox department store in Hartford, Conn., joined Paul Stuart circa 1951 after marrying Ostrove’s daughter, Barbara.
Ostrove was in declining health and wanted to retire, so he asked Grodd to buy out his share of the company, which he did. The Paul Stuart logo features a fictional character sitting on a fence at Yale, according to Grodd’s account. Paul Stuart became known for its adherence to a soft shoulder look in tailoring. The company claimed to be the first American retailer to bring side vents to the States, as well as the three-button suit.
Over the years, Grodd helped dress celebrities such as Cary Grant, Fred Astaire, Frank Sinatra, Paul Newman, and Mel Brooks. Clifford Grodd was definitely a man who has made his mark in the fashion industry and will be missed by many.

Makeup with a Purpose
New Mineral Make-Up Turns Cosmetics World on its Head
A California cosmetic company has introduced a breakthrough in mineral makeup. Formulated with natural, finely ground minerals and powerful peptides, this new high-performance makeup created by RAW Natural Minerals provides flawless coverage while actually improving the condition of skin over time, finally makeup with a purpose!
Founder Christina Marcaccini, who has been featured in Lucky, W, and SELF Magazine, created RAWMinerals to fill a gap in the cosmetics market. She aimed to formulate a line that delivered beautiful color and youthful radiance while refining skin's texture, smoothing fine lines and reducing the appearance of wrinkles.
RAW Natural Minerals has proven to be a highly-effective makeup with major skincare benefits. In an independent, 6-week clinical study of RAW Natural Minerals,
80% said their skin appeared more luminous
79% said their skin appeared healthier and renewed
74% saw improvement in lines and wrinkles within the first 5 minutes of application
74% experienced an improvement in skin moisture
71% said their skin appeared clearer
The key to RAW Natural Minerals' advanced performance is VitaFirm Complex. Rich in natural botanical peptides that have been proven to dramatically minimize the signs of aging, this innovative complex helps protect collagen to keep skin firm and tight. Pure plant extracts combine with these peptides to fill in facial lines, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and absorb excess oils.
According to the company, VitaFirm's moisture-boosting ingredients also give RAW Natural Minerals a distinct advantage over liquid makeup and powders. The lightweight minerals work to improve skin's elasticity and boost radiance with an ultra-hydrating texture that won't cake, crease or dry skin out.
RAW Natural Minerals' natural, botanically-infused formula makes it ideal for all skin types. Mineral makeup is recommended by dermatologists for people with sensitive skin, rosacea and acne because the ultra-fine powders allow skin to breath and won't clog pores. Many users say that RAW Natural Minerals is the first makeup to ever improve the condition of their skin.
Unlike some brands, RAW Natural Minerals comes with a shade match guarantee, delivering seamless coverage to all skin tones. The company's website features an easy-to-use color-matching system that makes choosing the right shade simple.
To introduce the line to customers, the company is offering a free trial of its 4-piece Discovery Kit for a limited time. You can try the kit out for free to make sure it works for you before you commit to buying it.
The free trial includes:
2 Customizable Mineral Foundations
Richly-pigmented, natural tones designed for seamless blending
Provides even coverage of imperfections and discolorations
1 Mineral Glow
Bronzer, eyeshadow and highlighter all in one
Delivers a luminous, sun-kissed glow to all skin tones
1 Active Veil SPF 18
Sheer, translucent minerals help set foundation
Provides an all-day flawless finish
You also get 3 free high-performance brushes with the kit.

Quick Tips to look 5 pounds thinner!
With summer around the corner, we could all stand to look as slim as we can in the hot and sexy summer dresses we have been dying to wear all season! I was able to do a little research, and found a few tips we could all use on how to look thinner.
1. Get rid of those baggy clothes: Many times we feel that baggy clothes are camouflaging the extra pounds we have picked up, but that's the complete opposite. Those extra clothes are making you look bigger, learn to play up your best features so you can hide the not so best ones.
2. Always stand up straight: Having great posture is definitely a great start. When you stand up straight, you'll instantly get the illusion of shedding a few pounds.
3. Be careful of the fabrics you choose: Depending on your body type, all those different fabrics that you love so much may not be as flattering as you might think. For example, if you have more of an hourglass or pear shape, fabrics that are more bulkier might draw unwanted attention to your hips. Try wearing a A-line skirt in a lightweight wool or cotton which will draw attention to your waist since it floats away from your body.
4. Wear a pointed toe pump: A way to make your legs look lean and longer, wear a nice pointed toe heel. Visually you'll get that extra length that's essential if you're petite or short of stature.
5. Be careful of the pleats: Pleats are a popular trend for this season, but be careful, because this is one everyone can't pull off. Pleats can make you look 10 pounds heavier and won't camouflage any problem areas if you're not careful. Stick to a flat front pant for a slimming effect, if your problem area happens to be your mid-section.
OK ladies, I hope that these quick tips can help you out when you putting together the rest of your summer wardrobe!

Product Plug: Covergirl ShineBlast Lipgloss
New Covergirl Shineblast Lipgloss: A+
This lipgloss is one of the hottest items for the season! It comes in 16 hues with a hint of shimmer, and features a patented applicator. When I tried out this new product, I was super excited because I am always open to try new products. I can say that this product has definitely received my approval. I judge my lip products on a lot of things, because a girl can't just wear any old lip product. This gloss doesn't leave a sticky residue on the lips, it has a wonderful smell to it, and it last for a while to keep those lips kissable. So ladies if you're looking for a new lip product for this season, then this is a great choice!
